The Specifics

Working in partnership with the Goldhirsh Foundation, Liberty Hill invests in the very best of Los Angeles’ nonprofits. Which of these organizations can mobilize the most voters for this fall’s election? We are asking Liberty Hill grantees how they would use $10,000 to turn on the turnout.

We’re looking for ways to bring democracy alive. Tell us how your nonprofit will reach unlikely voters, ensure that they are registered, and get them to the polls on Election Day! Can you mobilize young voters, immigrant voters, or others new to voting? Can you reach communities that historically don’t turn out to the polls?

Submit an idea from September 10 to September 28 (noon Pacific Time). Our judges will select which applicants will pass to the voting round. From October 1 to October 15 (midnight Pacific Time), we’ll open it up to public voting. A panel of judges from Liberty Hill will review the top 3 voted finalists and determine the final winner.
